WFQ show vendor: Precision Sharpening of Bremerton

It's time to start thinking about our great vendors!  July 14-15-16 you'll want to be ready to shop at our fun show!

Precision Sharpening of Bremerton will be there!

Alan Gwinner comes with a self-contained sharpening service, in a van, and he'll be located just outside the middle school venue - follow the signs!

Take a look at your knives, scissors, yard equipment, and swords (!) and anything else that needs sharpening and plan to bring them along - drop off when you come to the show and he'll have them ready when you leave!  It will also be easy to come back and bring MORE while the show is still on!

He's VERY experienced with quilting tools!

Pricing is listed on his web site or you can give him a call.
Have an item that needs sharpening that he has not listed?  Call him to inquire!

Protect your investment when you buy expensive tools and keep them sharp and functional.  Ask Alan for any advice about future care!

Woolley Fiber Quilters' Bed Turning at the quilt and fiber show!

Perhaps our most popular feature of our shows is the Bed Turning!  Teri Bever chooses a theme and collects quilts to illustrate her theme.  The quilts are layered on a charming old bed and two assistants hold them up and turn them back as Teri talks about the history of the pattern, any construction techniques that are interesting, fabrics used, and tells about the quilter.  In this collection you will see interesting patterns, contrasts, and some glorious wool fabric that all but glows in the quilt.  So much fun and educational!

Most but not all of the quilts this year were provided by our Featured Quilter, Reynola Pakusich!

Teri holds the bed turning twice each day at the show and it is always well attended.  Here is the sequence of photos from 2022 and you will wish you were there!

Thanks to Teri and her team for sharing so many GREAT quilts this year!

Or drop off at:
Cascade Fabrics

All registration forms must be accompanied by a photo of the entered quilt.  The easiest way to do this is to take a digital photo and print it on the back of the entry form with your printer.  If you submit the photo separately from the form, please be sure to write on the photo your name, phone number, and the name of the entry.  In case it gets separated from the form.

The quilt does not need to be finished by May 16th.  Just the paperwork and a photo of the quilt - in progress if need be.

Quilt turn-in day is Tuesday, May 31 at Cascade Fabrics.

Any medium or large quilt MUST have a hanging sleeve attached on the back, at the top.  Sufficient to allow a 2" x 2" pole to be inserted.  If you are in doubt, attach a sleeve.  Smaller quilts will be pinned to sheets.

Each quilt also requires a label identifying the owner, contact information, and the name of the entry.

Please refer to the form for more information, category definitions, and other important information.

And PLEASE plan to volunteer for some of the many tasks associated with putting on a wonderful quilt show!

Thank you!

Dog quilts and a Dawg quilt

Here are some more memories of the Woolley Fiber Quilters show - dogs (and even Dawgs) were a popular theme!!

Day three - winding down!

What a fun show we have had! With so many appreciative attendees and great weather - until today! Well, what better day to go to a quilt show than when it is raining! And in Washington, we plan for these things.

Here are three of our daily door prize winners, looking happy about their wins! We had many more prizes and winners than these - only these three people would stand still!

Should we Blast some quilts again next year? The consensus is, YES!

Day one - Show is a success!

Our first day is over! And what a great day it was! So many from the community coming to find their quilts and their friends' quilts! And those who came to learn about quilting and why they should do it!
We appreciate their great enthusiasm and hope to see many more tomorrow. SWAN bike ride, vintage car show, street vendors, sidewalk sales, and so much more are happening tomorrow in Downtown Sedro-Woolley!

QUILT SHOW TODAY!

This is it! Quilt show day is here! Two hours until opening!

Thanks to all our wonderful volunteers and their friends for yesterday's remarkable setup process. The show is amazing and we filled every square foot with quilts, vendors, demos, our boutique, and a few surprises.

Quilt Drop-Off Day details!

Our long day of accepting show entries was worth every minute! We have over 200 quilts in the show, exceeding our objective. Here, CJ adds some last minute binding to her quilt (don't tell her I did the same thing) and Teri measures an entry. If you're not a part of the quilt show committee, you're missing half the fun!

Quilt Drop-Off Day

Quilt drop-off day was busy and a great success! When you see our show, you'll be so impressed with the variety and talent of our local quilters! It's always fun to see what others have been working on and, of course, to get ideas for your own quilting!
We enjoyed working with all the happy quilters who dropped by at Cascade Fabrics to fulfill their registrations for the show. Quilters of all ages were there!
What a big weekend we have planned for you in downtown Sedro-Woolley!

Getting Closer!

We are "all the buzz" in Sedro-Woolley this week, as the windows at our show venue were painted with a special message! Quilters always home in on the word "quilt", especially when it identifies a show or a shop!

Thanks to Sheila Stewart for our professional window decor. And the wood carving is just one of many you'll see in downtown Sedro-Woolley!

Woolley Fiber Quilters - Sedro-Woolley WA

Woolley Fiber Quilters are organized to promote quilting education in Sedro-Woolley, Washington and our surrounding area. We do this primarily through holding a quilt show!

The 2010 Quilt Show - "Blast of Blooms" - will be held June 4-5-6, during the city's fun downtown festival, "Blast From the Past".

We hope you'll come to see us. We're planning on showing 200 or more quilts, enticing you with vendors, and inspiring you with demonstrations.

Sedro-Woolley is a hotbed of quilting! You'll be amazed at how many individual quilters and quilting groups are represented at our show!

Blast From the Past offers a variety of activities - Antique Car Show, Live Music, Street Vendors, and a number of family-friendly things to do, all in the downtown core.

Watch this blog for more information about our organization and the quilt show, and be sure to visit us in downtown Sedro-Woolley on the first weekend in June!
