WFQ raffle quilt winner 2025 - Kay Hickman Sass!

Our lucky winner of the 2025 raffle quilt is Kay Hickman Sass from southern California!

She is originally from Sedro-Woolley and a proud SWHS graduate in the class of 1970!  She is visiting the area for the summer, to see grandies and attend class reunions.  She attended our quilt show and bought her winning ticket at Cascade Fabrics!

Pictured here in front of Schaffner's Apothecary Coffee she is thrilled to win this scrappy masterpiece and particularly loves the cream colored background.

Congrats to Kay and we are so happy that our quilt went to someone who thoroughly appreciates it!!

Our raffle quilt has a new home!

After a year of enjoying our beautiful, glowing raffle quilt, we have randomly drawn a winning ticket and the winner is Rogene Seidel of Sedro-Woolley!  So nice to have a local winner.  The traditional block we used is the "weathervane" block with an innovative color combination and "on point" setting.  It was well-loved and appreciated by all and we are so happy that Rogene was able to come and pick it up on Sunday and tell us about the place she has for it in her home.  Congratulations to her and thanks to everyone for buying tickets and supporting Woolley Fiber Quilters!

Jennifer Adams draws the winning ticket!

Kimberly Russell makes the call!

Kimberly awards the quilt!

Congratulations to Rogene!

Blast of Birds raffle quilt has a winner!

Tyson Collins, 3, of Bellingham, was the winning ticket holder for the Woolley Fiber Quilters’ 2017 raffle quilt, “Blast of Birds”.  Tyson is a fan of birds, especially Big Bird and chickens.  He is also a quilt appreciator and is shown here with his dad Thiessen, mom Emily, and sister Molly.  The drawing was held at 4 p.m. on June 3 at Cascade Fabrics.  Woolley Fiber Quilters will reveal the 2018 raffle quilt at their annual quilt show, July 14-15-16, 2017 at Cascade Middle School in Sedro-Woolley.

2017 - the planning begins!

Starting now, we're looking forward to our 2017 quilt show!

Where will it be?  Only time will tell.  As you know, there is no large, permanent venue in Sedro-Woolley so we are the "moveable feast" of quilt shows.  We truly appreciate the building owners who have worked with us to make our shows possible.

In the meantime, we have already selected our 2017 theme!

"Blast of Birds"

June 2-3-4, 2017

And the Blast of Birds raffle quilt was revealed on Saturday, June 4.  Tickets were sold at the show and continue to be available at Cascade Fabrics in Sedro-Woolley.

Be the first on your block to buy a chance on this HUGE quilt!  84" x 104"

And work on your quilt show entries for next year's Blast of Birds!

Blast of Baskets quilt awarded to raffle winner! A surprise!

We are SO PLEASED to announce that the WINNER of our Blast of Baskets raffle quilt for 2016 is - Country Meadow Village!!  They were our major sponsor and had some tickets in the mix.  This quilt is so delightful and so appreciated that we wanted it to go to a really good home - and it did!

CMV Program Director, David Bricka accepted the prize and with a few enthusiastic helpers displayed it for our photos, below.  This quilt will be appreciated as a piece of art and we can all go visit it!

Thanks to everyone who participated in the raffle.  The proceeds help us bring a true community quilt show to Sedro-Woolley every year!

Blast of Baskets - day 2! A perfect quilt show day!

Another day of fun and great attendance from our friends, neighbors, travelers, and quilt appreciators!  We are so happy to see you all.  The day was HOT by local standards.  But inside, we were cool and quilty!

The voting was intense!  People's Choice results will be announced on Sunday.

Two showings of the bed turning at 11 and 2 were well-attended and informative!

Our biggest event of the day was the drawing for our Blast of Baskets raffle quilt.  So many wanted it!  We sold all 1000 tickets.

Gary W from Anacortes drew the winning ticket from our barrel and the proud winner was:  Country Meadow Village!  A great result, as we know that community of active adults is FULL of quilters and quilt appreciators so the Blast of Baskets quilt will go to a GREAT home!

Immediately afterwards, we revealed our 2017 raffle quilt:  Blast of Birds!

Ticket sales help us offset the costs of the show and support quilting education in Sedro-Woolley.  We always appreciate your support!!

See you on Sunday at Blast of Baskets!

Thinking ahead to 2017!

Quilt shows are a LOT of work and a lot of PLANNING!!

So even though we're getting ready (barely a month away) for Blast of Baskets, our 2016 quilt show, we're planning and constructing our raffle quilt for 2017!!  Next year's theme is Blast of Birds, so we tapped into the energy of the bird lovers in our group and suddenly, there's a Blast of Birds quilt!

Come to Blast of Baskets!  On Saturday, June 4th, about 4 p.m., we'll draw the winning ticket for our Blast of Baskets raffle quilt and immediately after we'll reveal Blast of Birds!!

We know how to have fun at a quilt show!

Raffle Quilt Reveal - 2015-2016 - Blast of Baskets!

Here are the photos from the "reveal" of our new raffle quilt!  It is called "Blast of Baskets" and was made by members of Woolley Fiber Quilters and quilted by (also member) Heather Rogers.  Heather puts just enough quilting magic into everything she does!  We used three basket patterns and members decided on their own basket fillings and whether or not they wanted to add a basket handle.  So there is a fun variety of blocks and artwork!

Tickets will be on sale at Cascade Fabrics in Sedro-Woolley and from any WFQ member.  You'll also see this great quilt at the Skagit County Fair in August.

The quilt is 88" x 90".  Drawing on June 4, 2016, at 4 p.m.
