WFQ Virtual Quilt and Fiber Show - July 20

Quilts with Words!
Quilters have been writing on quilts since quilting began.  From signatures of friends and family, to humor, to preserving history, to social memes.  Often called "message quilts" we love to see them and to create our own historical record
from the quilter's view.

Here are a FEW of the quilts with words in our past shows.

Sing a Song
Ellen Neill 2012
Notice the wonky log cabin blocks in the border!

Ships
Francie Jacobson 2012
This quilt represents actual ships.
The name of each ship is embroidered beneath it.

Thompson's Greenhouse
Erin Swieter 2012

Cascade Cupcake
Owned by Bobi Kelley 2013

Aloha Shirts
Bonita Yeager 2013

Forever to Remember

Word Quilts!

50th Birthday Quilt
Judy Johnson 2010
Each block contains a signature
from friends and family.

Example of signature block.
This block pattern is called "album"
and was very popular for signature quilts.

Cats Fly
Judy Johnson 2010
Preserving the names
of four favorite felines.

Remembering the publicity for our first
show in 2010:
