WFQ show cancelled for 2020 - sadly

Quilters and friends,
The venue we use for our wonderful annual quilt show has advised us that they will not be able to provide Cascade Middle School for us this year.  Their decision is a direct result of the COVID-19 virus and its ramifications for school districts everywhere.

So we are in the process of cancelling our 2020 show.  There will be a lot of information for you about this over the next few weeks.  It is likely that we will carry our theme over to 2021.

Please come back and visit our blog page often!  We're working on ideas for other, smaller events that will allow quilters to gather and show off our creations.  We love to share!

In the meantime, our quilting community is busy making fabric face masks to meet the needs of local medical facilities and others.  We are making MANY!!

Thanks for your interest and support.  We look forward to seeing you soon!

Sponsor Appreciation: Quilters by the River

There are LOTS of quilters in Sedro-Woolley and the biggest gathering is the group Quilters by the River!  They boast members from all over Skagit and Whatcom counties and  beyond.  They meet twice a month for show and tell plus announcements but also meet at least once a month to create quilts for charitable organizations.  Many members are involved with making quilts for Veterans, foster children, premature babies, and children in traumatic circumstances.

When you attend "Blast of Birds", you'll see many quilts on display that were created from the hearts and needles of this big group and you'll know that many more quilts are under construction RIGHT NOW for our 2018 show.

Thanks to Quilters by the River for their generous support!

Blast of Birds quilt show July 14-15-16, 2017!

Here is our lovely poster artwork for 2017 by local artist and quilter Sandra Takaro Miller!

BIRDS are the theme for 2017!

Quilters love our feathered friends and you can expect to see lots of fun bird quilts as well as a wide variety of beautiful submissions to our annual show.

Did you hear the news?

We have a NEW DATE and a NEW LOCATION!!

We just plain outgrew any quilt show venues that were available to us in the downtown core and we have moved our show to Cascade Middle School  905 McGarigle Rd,
Sedro-Woolley where we will have a full 10,000 square feet to hold our annual quilt show party!

Watch this blog for more information.
We have lots to show and tell!

Quilt Show Sponsors! Featured sponsor of the day: Quilters by the River!

Quilters by the River is the largest organized group of quilters in Sedro-Woolley, with about 75 members - or more!

They meet twice a month for "business" and show and tell, but also meet to quilt for those in need.  There will be LOTS of QBTR members at Blast of Farms, volunteering and exhibiting their quilts.  When you see a member, ask about the great work they do for foster kids and premature babies!!  Thanks for your sponsorship and participation!
