WFQ show 2024 - bed turning!

Our tradition is to have a "bed turning" twice a day at our three-day show, to further our purpose in quilting education.

Teri Bever and her Bed Turning Team assemble a selection of quilts around a theme and Teri presents a narrative about each quilt as they are displayed. It takes about 20 minutes.

This is one of the most popular features of our show and people mention to us that they remember the bed turnings most of all - one attendee said, "I never miss it!"

These quilts are from the estate of the late Reynola Pakusich, who was a teacher in the Sedro-Woolley School District as well as being a prolific quilter and quilt teacher.  She passed away earlier this year and we miss her.  She was our Featured Quilter in 2022.

Here is the series of quilts that were shown, with Teri giving the history of the pattern and things to watch for in similar quilts. Thanks to the Team for their participation and thanks to those who came to see!

WFQ Show Day 3 - July 21

Day 3 ended and with it the quilt and fiber art show came down! All was put away and quilts claimed by owners. And always somewhat chaotic but people show up to help!

THANKS to everyone who planned, executed, managed, and helped close the show! Special THANKS to all you fiber artists who entered your pieces for visitors to admire. Looks like the "preliminary final" count of entered items is 340. We will adjust that if needed.

Now is time for the paperwork! Give us a couple of days to create a list of ribbon winners (People's Choice), post photos, and post other statistics about the show. We are colossally grateful for such a successful show and YOU were all a part of it. How will we top that for 2025? Stick around and see!

WFQ Show Day 2 - July 20

As Show Day 2 drew to a close we reminded everyone that they still had Sunday to come and have some fiber fun! 10 to 4 on Sunday and the People's Choice winners had their ribbons on display so you could see if your favorites were recognized! We know it's SO HARD to pick favorites - we vote, too! - but we love to give the ribbons and enjoy the recognition from our friends and neighbors.

Did you see the tea party? The Highland Cows? The pixelated cat? Hexies? Cats in Cups? Pacific Northwest themes? Well, you know what to do! Cascade MIddle School on Sunday! Bed turnings at 11 and 2. See you there! $5 admission - kids 19 and under free!

WFQ show sponsor: Cascade Fabrics!

On Metcalf Street in beautiful downtown Sedro-Woolley is a great small quilt shop!  In business for 40+ years, Bobi Kelley caters to our busy quilting community as well as carrying general sewing supplies for local folks.  We love to drop in and see what's new!  Visitors often stay a while to shop as well as get the quilting news and see what classes are pending.  Bobi's loyal customers bring their finished projects to show off!  And the WFQ annual raffle quilt is on display - tickets are available!

Remember to visit Cascade Fabrics when you're in town or make a special trip!  We are so happy to have this fun store in our neighborhood!

WFQ show sponsor: Country Meadow Village!

Once again Country Meadow Village in Sedro-Woolley is the major sponsor of our annual show.  We love to have them as a partner in promoting quilting and fiber art!  The CMV crew comes to the show and collaborates to award a special ribbon to their favorite!  And this year the CMV crafters were a big help in preparing the decorative clothespins that we use to attach the artist's statement to each entry.

So come see our show!  July 19-20-21!  You'll have a great time and be inspired!
