We had a very special entrant in Blast of Farms - Alvina Sundsby shared two of her amazing quilts with us. She is 95 years young and graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1938. She attends Camano Island Quilters and generously exhibited her Dresden Plate quilt and a sweet one she calls "Frost on the Pumpkin". Thanks to her and to ALL entrants, volunteers, and attendees!!

Blast of Farms - memories of other great quilts!
Did you choose a favorite at Blast of Farms? We all had so much APPRECIATION for so many quilts! Here are a few more photos for you to enjoy!
Blast of Farms - Loggerodeo quilt!
We showed 231 quilts at Blast of Farms that were eligible for the People's Choice voting. Not all of them could win! Here's one that was made by Butch and Linda Stearns for the Loggerodeo committee to use for fundraising. Watch the Loggerodeo schedule (coming up SOON) to find out more about this amazing quilt!
Blast of Farms - winners in "Celebrity Judges" category!
Finally, here are our winners as selected by this year's Celebrity Judges! For fun, we asked local mayors to choose their favorites. The mayor of Sedro-Woolley was not invited this time because a) he has done it before and b) his wife is a quilter...
But this panel of judges did a great job and chose to honor some fabulous pieces. Our definition of "Celebrity" is always broad...but these three judges are certainly celebrities in Skagit County!

Selected by Jason Miller, mayor of Concrete
(and this year's Blast from the Past
adult jump rope champion!!).
Selected by Steve Sexton, mayor of Burlington.
Selected by Ramon Hayes, mayor of La Conner.
Blast of Farms - winners in "Other" category!
Here's our catch-all category for wearables, accessories, decorative items that are not quilts, and pretty much ANY inspired non-traditional-quilt!
Blast of Farms - winners in "Extra Small" category!
This is our category for any quilt up to 60 inches around the perimeter. Includes true "miniatures" as well as other very small quilts.
Blast of Farms - winners in "Holiday" category!
This is a new category for us! And we had some GREAT entries. Any stitched item representing ANY holiday could be entered here.
Blast of Farms - winners in "Challenge" category!
Our challenge this year was to construct a "market basket" type of quilt to show off the great produce in the Skagit Valley. Here are the winners!
Oops! Missing one photo of Londa Schultz'
second place quilt in this category.
Will work on getting one...
This quilt was also part of the
"Wanda's Corn Challenge" group!
